Morphological Evolution Characteristics of River Cross-Sections in the Lower Weihe River and Their Response to Streamflow and Sediment Changes

River cross-section morphology and water sediment conditions are deeply connected. In recent years, the lower Wei has experienced regular flooding drastic changes in river channel shape, causing significant harm to economy development of reaches. This research investigated morphological evolution features based on annual extensive data from hydrological stations Xianyang, Lintong, Huaxian Weihe 2006 2018 cross-sections reaction variations. The findings indicated that River’s cross-sectional alterations between exhibited a trend “flushing at both ends siltation middle” while continuing exhibit “non-flood flushing flood siltation” features. incoming coefficient declined dramatically, whereas median diameter suspended particles grew significantly Lintong station. average elevation was highly synchronized with change coming coefficient, impact big floods dramatically influenced shape cross-section. Human activities such as management have directly affected station caused increase particles, resulting river. study’s can serve theoretical foundation for regulation training River, reducing damage.
